Wedding Cake Card(s)

Second post of the day. Last night I made two really simple but really pretty wedding cards. They are shaped as wedding cakes. See below for card details and products used.

The Card
·         Layers
o   Card base – Cake card cut in white at 6” from page 63 of the Wild Card cartridge.
o   Shimmer paper layer – Unfortunately I do not know who this paper is by, it was originally a 8 ½” x 11” piece of shimmery white paper with the pattern (seen on the card) on the back side of it. For this layer I used the blackout feature of the cake and cut it along the score/fold line. It was also cut at 6”.
·         Other elements
o   Pearls – Kaisercraft white pearls (come in 305mm strips) shaped along lines on cake and cut accordingly.
o   Ribbon – white organza ribbon  (3/8” width), tied into a small bow and attached using a mini glue dot.

P.s. the card(s) look a lot prettier in 'real life' - the photos weren't that great.

Blue Bird 'Thank You' Card

Another circle card, this time a thank you card. The bird was not cut using the cricut (suprise, suprise!). See below pictures for card details and products used.

The Card

·         Card Layers
o   Base - Circular card base cut at 4 ½” from brown cardstock and inked with Versa Colour ‘Pinecone’ ink
o   Striped layer – paper is from Kaisercraft: Duchess Collection ‘Empire’. Circle cut at 4 1/8”
o   Ripped layer – paper is the back of paper mentioned above. Circle cut at 4 1/8” and ripped
o   Sentiment layer – Cut at 2” x 2 ½” from brown cardstock and, again, inked with Versa Colour ‘Pinecone’ ink
·         Sentiment

First Ever Challenge

I created this card for the challenge over at Flaunt It Fridays.

The challenge was to create anything with the turtle cut from the 'Create A Critter' cartridge on page 64. They had challenged participants to create something other than a card but this wasn't required.

The Card
·         Card base:
o   Cut from creamy brown coloured cardstock
o   Circle card base cut at 5” (12.6cm) from Wild Card (blackout feature on page 48)
o   Inked (around edges) with Versa Colour ‘Pinecone’ brown ink
·         Card Layers:
o   Red layer - cut at approx 4¾” (12.3cm) with faux stitching around edge using a white gel pen. This layer was also lightly inked (can’t really tell) with Versa Colour ‘Cardinal’ ink
o   Yellow layer – Cut at approximately 4 6/16” (11.2cm) and inked orange with Versa Colour ’Topaz’ ink
o   Flower layer – Cut at approximately 4 2/16” (10.5cm) and inked around edge with Versa Colour ‘Bamboo’ ink. Paper is from October Afternoon – Farm Fresh: Farmhouse
o   Sentiment Layer – Cut approximately at 4” (?) and ripped. Paper is reverse side of the flower paper (spotty side)
·         Sentiment:
o   Stamp – “Thinking of You” (unsure of brand)
o   Ink – StazOn ‘Timber Brown’
·         Turtle:
o   Cut at 4” and attached using 3D foam squares
o   First layer (body layer) cut using normal turtle body (no feature buttons) and inked lightly with Versa Colour ‘Bamboo’ ink. Face drawn on using black felt tip pen and small googly eyes glued on using Glossy Accents
o   Second layer (shell layer) cut using ‘Layer 2’ feature button. Inked with Versa Colour ‘Olive’ ink and embossed using Cuddlebug ‘Mesh Texture’ embossing folder

My First Ever Post...

I've just set up an account. Not sure how long this will last or how often it will be updated. I don't really know how to use this but hopefully I can learn. Unsure on what to write but I will  post pictures of recent cards I've made soon. That is all.
